What is ENAIRE Drones?

ENAIRE Drones is the official tool developed by the Spanish air navigation manager (ENAIRE) in collaboration with AESA to check UAS geographical zones. It is the official map where you can verify restrictions and NOTAMs before flying your drone in Spain.

Key Changes in 2026 Regulations

From 2026, major changes in drone regulations take effect in Spain and across Europe:

National Scenarios Discontinued

One of the most important changes is the discontinuation of national scenarios STS-ES-01 and STS-ES-02, which previously allowed flying in populated areas or with reduced visibility under local conditions.

Since January 2026, only European scenarios STS-01 and STS-02 are valid, which impose stricter requirements:

  • Mandatory use of drones with C5 or C6 marking
  • Greater precision in operational documentation
  • Additional restrictions for urban flights without specific authorization

Drone Requirements

All equipment operating under STS scenarios must be certified as C5 or C6. These classes incorporate advanced safety systems, certified remote control, mandatory geofencing, electronic Remote ID, and automatic return.

How to Use the ENAIRE Drones App

Before each flight, you must check the ENAIRE Drones app to verify that your flight zone is permitted. The app shows restricted zones, airport CTRs, military zones, and active NOTAMs in real time.
